Live Event * Sports * Webcasting
Media Rapids was producing and delivering video via the internet long before YouTube or any of the other streaming sites popular today. And as television is now making their programs available for online viewing, they too are following in Media Rapids' footsteps. And, with over 2 years of live ice hockey webcasting under our belt we have refined our live sports event webcasting to the highest levels of quality, produced by a very small crew. We can do this because our webcasting team has several decades of experience.
Steve Wishard, the head of our camera team began covering sports events in the 1970s as a still photographer shooting grand prix auto racing. After mastering all aspects of studio and event photography, and the dark room, he decided to take his cameras along while scuba diving. Finding that still images couldn't effectively communicate the experience of diving, he began the transition to film and video. Eventually, he brought his undewater film & video experience back to dry land and back to studio & live sporting events.
The sports broadcasting part of the team is headed up by Greg Hallaman. Greg has been working in the sports broadcasting field ever since graduating as a telecommunications & journalism major from Kent State University in the early 1980s. While Greg's nearly 3 decades at the mic are immediately evident when viewing or listening to our webcasts, the fact that he has been writing all of that time can escape notice. His considerable writing skill can be found in "Inside Hockeytown" Magazine, The Chicks' Guide to Football and in Detroit Redwings Game Previews. Greg also makes his years of experience at the word processor available to athletes creating one of our Athlete Marketing Websites.
